# 🔑 Setting Up Instagram Business & META Permissions

This article guides you through the simple steps required to prepare your Instagram account for seamless integration with BackRoom using META’s connectors.

## 📱 **1. Convert Your Instagram Account to a Business Account**

Having an Instagram **Business Account** is essential for connecting to BackRoom. If your account isn't yet a Business Account, follow these easy steps:

* Open Instagram and go to your **profile**.
    
* Tap the **three lines (☰)** at the top-right corner.
    
* Select **Settings → Account → Switch account type → Switch to Professional account**.
    
* Choose **Business**, follow the prompts, and complete the setup.

Now your Instagram account is ready for connection!


## 🔗 **2. Granting Instagram Permissions via META**

Ensuring the right permissions through META (Facebook) is necessary for BackRoom to securely analyze your data:

* Head to your connected Facebook account linked to your Instagram Business profile.
    
* Go to your **Facebook Page Settings**.
    
* Select **Linked Accounts** (Instagram).
    
* Verify your Instagram account is correctly linked.
    
* Go to **Facebook Business Integrations** (via Settings → Security & Login → Business Integrations).
    
* Find and select **BackRoom**, ensuring all permissions are enabled (data insights, page management, messaging permissions).

Once granted, BackRoom can securely access your insights.

* Verify that you have administrative rights to the Facebook page.
    
* Reconnect via BackRoom after granting all required permissions.
